Heather joined the Michigan Kidney Translational Medicine Core (MiKTMC) during Spring of 2014.  She has a diverse business background, including many years with GlaxoSmithKline and, most recently, with a small, bioinformatics startup company. Heather held a number of business development, international marketing and account management positions in the automotive, biotech and pharmaceutical industries. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, an M.B.A. in International Business from Pepperdine University, and completed her PhD work at Eastern Michigan University (EMU) in Technology Studies, focusing on Bioethics.  Heather enjoyed teaching International Business at EMU and loves her current role in managing the development of public-private partnerships between academia and the private sector, as well as steering a number of strategic, financial, and operational aspects of MiKTMC.
